General Secretary of the Valley of Ocala since March 1, 2020. Retired U.S. Air Force officer (25+ years) and former City Manager of Blanchard and Pauls Valley, Oklahoma. Received KCCH in 2015.

Personal background

Edward Mayfield was born November 30, 1940, in Jackson, Tennessee. He graduated from East Nashville Senior High in 1958.

Military service

Mayfield joined the United States Air Force in January 1959 and completed basic training at Lackland AFB. His military career spanned more than 25 years across multiple continents, with assignments including Morocco, Japan, and Vietnam.

He earned a bachelor's degree through the Bootstrap Commissioning Program and was commissioned a 2nd Lieutenant in the USAF. As an officer he held positions including squadron commander and missile combat crew commander at bases in Oklahoma, Louisiana, Arkansas, and New Hampshire. He retired on July 1, 1984.

Post-military career

After his military service, Mayfield earned a master's degree in Business/Public Administration from Webster University. He settled in Norman, Oklahoma, studied Environmental Science at East Central University, and served as City Manager for both Blanchard and Pauls Valley, Oklahoma.

Masonic career

Mayfield was initiated, passed, and raised at the Blanchard, Oklahoma Masonic Lodge in 1990. After relocating to The Villages, Florida in 2003, he joined Villages Lodge No. 394 and served as Worshipful Master in 2012. He advanced through various district positions, including District Deputy Grand Master in 2014. He joined the Scottish Rite in 2007, received the Knight Commander of the Court of Honor (KCCH) in 2015, and was appointed General Secretary of the Valley of Ocala on March 1, 2020.
